The Biology Department offers a program to assist students interested in attending veterinary
school, including advisement from Dr. J. Bird who was formerly a practicing veterinarian.
Pre-vet students are given information on current requirements for admission to vet schools and
are encouraged to join the Pre-vet club. The Pre-vet program facilitates volunteer experiences
in clinics and other venues (e.g. the U.P. 200 Sled Dog race), interacts with local veterinarians,
and plans trips to zoos and other areas of interest.
