Student Association of Michigan

The Student Association of Michigan (SAM) is a statewide organization that supports and advocates for Michigan Universities. Their mission is: 
 

"To advance higher education by empowering current and future students to advocate on their own behalf for the accessibility, affordability, and quality of the public institutions of higher education in the state of Michigan."

ASNMU is an active member of SAM and sends members to SAM conventions six times a year. SAM currently consists of members from 13 of the 15 public universities in Michigan. Together, SAM Universities advocate for over 300,000 college students in Michigan. SAM monitors state and federal legislation relating to matters relevant to college aged students, organizes lobbying trips, and guides University student governments on civic engagement.
