The Patrick M. Gagliardi Collection

This collection documents the political career of Pat Gagliardi (Democrat, Drummond Island), former state representative from the central and eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The collection covers the years 1983 to 1998.  The records are open for research under the conditions of the Archives' access policy. 

The Dominic J. Jacobetti Collection

The papers of Dominic J. Jacobetti (Democrat, Negaunee) are comprised of the records he produced during forty years as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, covering the years 1954 to 1994.  The records are open for research under the conditions of the Archives' access policy. 

The Charles Varnum Collection

This collection documents the political career of Charles Varnum (Republican, Manistique) as a state representative and city manager of Manistique, Michigan.  The collection covers the period from 1967 to 1988.  The records are open for research under the conditions of the Archives' access policy. 

The Howard Swaine Collection

This collection documents Howard Swaine's career as a local government politician in Marquette, Michigan.  The collection covers the period from 1975 to 1989.  The records are open for research under the conditions of the Archives' access policy. 

The James Goulette Collection

This collection documents the political career of James Goulette (Democrat, Iron Mountain) as a state representative from the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The collection covers the period from 1936 to 1999.  The records are open for research under the conditions of the Archives' access policy. 

The Connie Binsfeld Collection

This collection partially documents the political career of former Lieutenant Governor Connie Binsfeld as the Lieutenant Governor of Michigan from 1991 to 1998. The collection contains material from Lt. Gov. Binsfeld's political career as a county commissioner, state representative, and statte senator. However, the bulk of the collection covers the period from 1991 to 1998. Subjects of particular note include Lt. Gov. Binsfeld's work on child welfare and adoption, domestic violence, and environmental legislation. The collection also documents much of Lt. Gov. Binfeld's family life through photographs and memorabilia. The collection includes, but is not limited to, personal correspondence, memorandum, published pamphlets and reference material, speeches, newspaper clippings, photographs, scrapbooks, legislative material, Family Independence Agency material, awards, honorary degrees, calendars, journals, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes.  Note to researcher: This collection remains unprocessed.  For access to the collection, contact the University Archivist.
