Digitized Local Government Records

The Central Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives received a Wildcat Innovation Fund Grant in 2011 to fund the digitization of the minutes and agendas of the Marquette county and city of Marquette Board of Commissioners. The records document the history of the Marquette area from 1849 through 2004. The documents can be accessed by following the links within the online finding aids. The attachments in the foldered minutes were not scanned, but they are still available for research at the Central Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives. Current minutes and agendas can be found at the Marquette County Board of Commissioners’ and Marquette City Government’s web pages.
