Comprehensive Quality Review

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requests your comments. Follow instructions below to link directly to the HLC.


NMU will host a team representing the Higher Learning Commission on March 20-23, 2017 to review standards and criteria for accreditation. 

We are seeking public comments that address the quality of the university or its academic programs in advance of the HLC's visit. These comments can be submitted online here by February 20, 2017 or sent by mail to:

NMU has been accredited by the HLC since 1916.


The Quality Highlights Report

The Quality Highlights Report (QHR) provides NMU with an opportunity to present additional information following AQIP's review of the Systems Portfolio. The report includes updates as well as any new information that was not available at the time of the Systems Portfolio submission (June 1, 2014). The QHR addresses AQIP peer review comments made in the Systems Appraisal and provides updates on Strategic Challenges. In addition, the QHR addresses specific actions taken as a result of Strategy Forum participation and Action Project activities.


Comprehensive Quality Review Peer Review Team

The Evaluation Summary Sheet provides information regarding the five - member peer review team NMU will be hosting on March 20 - 22, 2017.


Open Forum Schedule

The AQIP peer review team has requested to meet with NMU faculty, staff and students. The schedule is as follows:

The open forum reserved for staff (excluding administrators) will take place on Tuesday,  March 21 from 11:00-12:00 in the Charcoal Room of the UC.

The open forum reserved for students will take place on Tuesday, March 21  from 12:00-1:00 in the Cadillac/Brule Rooms of the UC. Pizza will be served.

The open forum reserved for faculty (excluding administrators) will take place  on Tuesday, March 21, from 4:00-5:00 in the Charcoal Room of the UC.
