Information about the instructors and developers

Who are Dawn Molitor-Gennrich, SRA and Richard Heyn, SRA?

Dawn Molitor-Gennrich, SRA and Rich Heyn, SRA are co-owners of Heyn, Molitor-Gennrich, LLC, an educational entity that specializes in using web conferencing technology or "webinars" to deliver education to appraisers and other real property professionals. Dawn and Rich are the developers and instructors for Northern Michigan University's series of "webinar" delivered continuing education.

What are the qualifications of the developers and instructors?

Dawn Molitor-Gennrich, SRA and Richard Heyn, SRA are AQB certified USPAP instructors, and Dawn is a former member of the Appraisal Standards Board.  Both are Certified Distance Education instructors by the International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC).  They possess extensive experience and expertise in appraisal education development and instruction as well as speaking experience in topics related to both residential and commercial real property.

Why did the instructors partner with Northern Michigan University?

NMU is one of the largest computer campuses in the United States and has received national and international awards for its innovative work in the area of technology for higher education.  But what started the real connection with NMU is its current education program for appraisers.

NMU has been active in providing off-campus education to real estate appraisers for nearly 20 years in traditional classroom settings mostly in Michigan, but also in Wisconsin, Florida and Nevada.  This is how the University's association with Rich and Dawn began.

Dawn and Rich have co-authored a number of the appraisal-related classroom continuing education seminars offered by NMU over the years.  Rich has been an appraisal seminar instructor for NMU for about 15 years.

How does this educational partnership between the instructors and NMU work?

Northern Michigan University has extensive experience in delivering distance education in a number of other disciplines.  Consequently, when our instructors, Dawn Molitor-Gennrich, SRA and Richard Heyn, SRA created a business venture that used web conferencing technology or "webinars" to deliver education to appraisers, NMU was a natural fit.  Dawn and Rich are the developers and instructors; NMU is the sponsoring entity.  It's a great match because NMU and the instructors view education as a cause, not just a business.
