In a 2010 interview Teri List-Stoll '84 said that her professional goal was “delivering value in business” while “creating an inclusive culture and making a difference in the careers of women.” Over the course of her professional and personal journey, Teri has certainly delivered, distinguishing herself not only through commitment to her vocation and industry, but also through her deep belief in developing leaders, opening doors of opportunity for women and the promoting the important role that businesses and individuals play in supporting community programs and initiatives.
For her exceptional achievements in finance and industry, her dedication to shaping the leaders of today and tomorrow and her profound commitment to creating opportunity in education, business and the community, at last week’s commencement, Teri received an honorary Doctor of Business degree from NMU. She also delivered the keynote address at commencement.
Currently, Teri is an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer for Kraft Foods. She leads financial operations, including accounting and reporting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, audit, and investor relations. As a former senior vice president and treasurer of Procter & Gamble, she led the global treasury, acquisition & divestiture, investor relations, and external business development organizations.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, over the years, Teri has dedicated significant time and effort to extending her belief in business ethics, integrity and best practices beyond her work by serving on the board of directors and audit committee of Danaher Corporation, as a trustee and chairing the Audit Committee of the Financial Accounting Foundation, as past chair of Financial Executives International’s (FEI) Committee on Corporate Treasury and Institute of Management Accountants’ (IMA) Financial Reporting Committee and as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
During her rise in the world of corporate finance, Teri has served as a role model and mentor for women starting down their own career path. She has been involved with the Corporate Women’s Executive Forum and the United Way Women’s Leadership Council and has helped others find, as she has described it, the “flexibility and confidence to take risks to gain the experience necessary to be successful at the executive level.”
Many professional and community organizations have also benefitted from Teri’s experience and expertise, including the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, the Procter & Gamble Fund, Summit Country Day, the Cincinnati Museum Center Investment Committee, the United Way Strategic Development Cabinet, and other volunteer and community endeavors.
Teri is a strong believer in and supporter of higher education. She received her B.A. in Business Administration in 1984 from Northern Michigan University and been honored with the university’s Outstanding Young Alumni award in 1993. She has advanced her alma mater as a NMU Foundation Trustee, former Advisory Council member and Executive in Residence for the NMU College of Business.
