The 2012 Blueberry Classic on Friday, July 27 at the Northern Michigan University Golf Course will not be your ordinary golf outing!

Funds raised at this event benefit students who encounter unexpected financial challenges, but it's also about having fun in a non-competitive event. Any type of golfer is welcome; the Blueberry Classic features 18 traditional and not-so-traditional holes. Learn more about the format, the fun activities and the event menu.

The primary purpose of the Blueberry Classic is to raise funds for the NMU Student Flexible Aid Fund, a resource for students who experience unexpected financial challenges such as medical expenses, day care and car repairs - things not covered by traditional financial aid.

The event is a new addition to activities held as part of the annual downtown Marquette Blueberry Festival. It will also raise awareness of how the NMU Golf Course, donated to the university in 2009, benefits students on multiple levels.

The NMU Alumni Association is proud to be a sponsor of the 2012 Lake Superior Shore Run, taking place during the 2012 Homecoming festivities on September 22.  Registration is expected to draw over 400 participants. Events include a half-marathon, 5K race and a free 1k kids race, all along the beautiful shore line of Lake Superior.  Registration is now open and more information can be found at: http://www.superiorlandskiclub.com/events/lake-superior-shore-run/. Make sure you include this event as part of your 2012 NMU Homecoming experience and help support the Superior Land Ski Club's youth programs.

Model A Events held on Campus

The NMU campus was visited by hundreds of Model A antique cars.  Events were held on campus as part of the MAFCA national convention taking place throughout Marquette County.  Most convention event were not open to the public, but there will be a public showing tonight at the Superior Dome from 7 - 9 p.m.  Seeing them drive through campus was sure a portal back in time.

Summer Orientation

Incoming students shout “N – M – U” with orientation staff and Wildcat Willy at the Be Wild, Stay Wild student workshop during this year’s Summer Orientation. New students can participate in a series of workshops that focus on learning different aspects of student life at NMU. Those who attend this workshop were able to talk about the NMU traditions and school pride with orientation and Advancement staff and get a chance to display their wild side through cheers and singing of the fight song.
