Kurt Brandly ’12: A Record of Service and Achievement
(Kurt and his mother, Gail '83)
Kurt has made his years at NMU count. As Kurt has stated:
“From living in Germany, to volunteering to help underserved kids in India, serving as a Big Brother to a troubled youth or catering to the needs of the elders in the community, my experiences here at Northern have been life-changing. I am forever grateful for all the opportunities I have been granted.”
Here are a few more things Kurt spent his time doing while a Wildcat:
Kurt was Vice-President of Alpha Lambda Delta.
Kurt completed the two-year Student Leader Fellowship Program and was selected for the Dean’s Advisory Council and completed all four components of the Superior Edge program, logging over 1,000 hours of community service, job experience, leadership development and promotion of cultural diversity.
Kurt was a volunteer at Marquette General Hospital and helped to raise money for Beacon House, an organization that provides support services for patients who are undergoing medical treatment and their families.
As a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Kurt served as a youth group camp counselor.
Kurt also served as a Big Brother and participated in service and fundraising projects such as Relay for Life, Make a Difference Day and Spring into Service.
