We're starting the week with sunshine, but chances are pretty good that we'll end the week with snow flurries. The five-day forecast calls for a chance of rain mixed with snow each day. While some areas of the U.P. have had a dusting of snow, no real measurable snow has been reported yet this season.

New England area alumni support Ron Burton Scholarship

NMU President Les Wong is presented with a check for $15,000 by Paul Burton from the Ron Burton Training Village in Hubbardston, Mass. The funds were raised by an annual golf outing organized by New England area alumni. Proceeds from the golf outing support the Ron Burton Training Village Scholarship which provides a full ride scholarship for a graduate of the Training Village to attend Northern Michigan University. President and Mrs. Wong attended the alumni reception at the Harvard Club in Boston, hosted by Pat Lentell '71 and his wife, Patti Kenny.

Alumni cheer on the 'Cats at Saginaw Valley State University

The NMU Alumni Association teamed up with the NMU Football Parents Association and hosted a Wildcat tailgate party at Saginaw Valley State University, Saturday, Nov. 5. Special thanks to NMU Alumni Association Board of Directors member Pat Wilson '92 and his wife, Tricia, for being such great hosts.

Wildcat fans cheered on the team as they arrived at the stadium prior to the game. The 'Cats were defeated by the SVSU Cardinals, 48-26.

Alumni to gather in Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids is the site of the NMU Alumni Association Board of Directors winter meeting and the board will host a reception for area alumni while there. All Grand Rapids area alumni and friends are encouraged to "save the date" of Friday, Jan. 27.The Wildcat reception will be held at WMCAT, the West Michigan Center For Arts and Technology in downtown Grand Rapids on East Fulton Street. Greater Grand Rapids area alumni will receive invitations soon. Keep your eye on the mailbox for more details.

  • Find a local bar or restaurant that gets Fox Sports.

  • Make sure they're willing to televise the game for you.

  • Get in touch with the Alumni Office.

  • Plan on having a great time.

Once you have a location determined, the Alumni office will help get the word out to alumni and friends in your area. We'll send you a Party Pak, complete with everything you need for a great Wildcat evening.

Keep in mind...the earlier you find your location, the better advance publicity you'll get.

Determine your location by January 1 and we'll mail invitations to all alumni in your area.
