Student Alumni Association
Students today.
Alumni forever.

The NMU Student Alumni Association is an energetic group of Northern students dedicated to creating opportunities for students to network with alumni while educating students on the importance of philanthropy and promoting NMU pride and traditions.
The group works closely with the NMU Alumni Association and the NMU Foundation and operates under NMU Student organization guidelines.
Alison Silk, President: "Having the opportunity to meet and communicate with alumni is very important. We are currently working on having alumni attend every other meeting to talk about their experiences at NMU, breaking into their field after graduation and any other tips that might be helpful. NMU students are excited to hear their advice."
They are currently planning a speaker series to bring alumni back to campus and speak as a panel to large groups of students about their experiences.
How you can help:
Speak at a Student Alumni Association meeting or be part of a panel-discussion series.
Conduct one-on-one advising sessions with students who are interested in your field or profession.
Provide internship opportunity at your business.
Host a luncheon or dinner for eight-to-ten students to informally chat about life in your field.
Coach students on resume-building and interviewing for jobs.
These are just a few possibilities. What ideas do you have? The NMU Student Alumni Association is waiting to hear from you. Contact the Alumni Association at 1-877-GRAD NMU or alumni@nmu.edu. You can reach Alison directly at saa@nmu.edu.

The Student Alumni Association participates in Make A Difference Day, Oct. 23.
