NMU’s Physical Education and Instruction Facility and Indoor Rock Climbing Wall

Location:    Physical Education and Instruction Facility, located between the Superior Dome
                    and the Berry Events Center  
Time:           Friday and Saturday all day and Sunday 11:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m.
Price:          Free

More commonly called the “PEIF” (rhymes with “beef”), this facility offers an indoor climbing wall, weight room, cardiovascular area, basketball courts, racquetball courts, swimming pool, and dance studios.   You can use the facility for free anytime on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.   Just check in at the information desk and let the worker know you’re visiting for Wildcat Weekend.  


DeVos Art Museum

Location:    DeVos Art Museum, located in NMU's Art and Design Building
Time:           Friday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Price:          Free

The DeVos Art Museum has a permanent collection of over 1,500 objects. Assembled over the past 30 years, the collection has grown to achieve an impressive breadth and depth of holdings. Explore 20th Century Illustration, Japanese Art & Artifacts and Native American Art & Artifacts. The highlighted exhibition is the Aperture Photography Foundation Project which is known as the "common ground for the advancement of photography."



Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center

Location:    In the Beaumier Alumni Welcome and U.P. Heritage Center, part of Gries Hall, corner of 7th St. and Lee Drive.
Time:           Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

St Patrick's Street Shutdown

Location:  Marquette Downtown
Time:         March 17th

Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day the right way with the Washington Street Shut down. Festivities will include dueling pianos, a mechanical bull, and a cash bar. Plus, there's a photo booth so you'll have some awesome St. Patty's Day photos.  Find details here



Marquette Regional History Museum

Location:  145 West Spring Street, Marquette
Time:         Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Price:        $7 adults; $3 students

The Marquette History Museum is the oldest Historical Society in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The museum features a collection that includes artifacts from the prehistoric copper culture through current times. Each year, visitors from all over the world come to use the Research Library and view the museum's exhibitions gallery.

Marquette Polar Plunge 2018

Location:   Marquette Mountain, Marquette
Time:          Saturday, 2:15 p.m.
Cost:          Any donation to Special Olympics Michigan

The Marquette Polar Plunge takes place on March 18, 2018 at Marquette Mountain Ski Hill. Registration starts at 1:00 p.m. Parade of Costumes takes place at 2:15 p.m. Costumes are not required but are encouraged. Plunging starts at 2:30 p.m. More details can be found here


Al Quaal Recreation Area Tube Slide

Location:   501 Poplar Street, Ishpeming
Time:          Saturday and Sunday, 12:00-5:00 p.m. (weather permitting)
Cost:          Individual, $8 or Group of ten, $60

Marquette Mountain Skiing and Snowboarding

Location: Marquette Mountain
Time: 10:00am-8;30pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Price: Free entry with a ski pass from your visit to campus or $30-$43 depending on time frame.
Saturday and Sunday (17th-18th) feature the Spring Carnival, St. Patty's Day Party, Speed Day, Polar Plunge and Slush Cup Fun Day. Learn more here.

Explore historic downtown Marquette. Brose stores filled with local artisans, unique gifts and one of a-kind keepsakes. Enjoy food and great atmosphere at one of hte many eateries within walking distance of the heard of downtown. Walk to the harbor and enjoy the view of Lake Superior and the Ore Dock.
