"I love NMU because of the ease of access to my professors and the intimate classroom settings. Whenever I have questions or need help, they are quick to respond. The smaller class sizes help keep class social and make it easier to get involved in discussions."

Prospective student? Become a Wildcat!

  1. Plan your transfer using our transfer credit database on Transferology. It's free to use and you'll get a quick unofficial accounting of how your courses equal NMU classes.
  2. Apply for FREE to NMU. We need your official transcripts from all prior colleges attended.
    1. Less than 12 college credits earned after high school? Send us your official high school transcript, too.
  3. Submit a FAFSA to NMU or update your current FAFSA with NMU's school code of 002301.
  4. Set up your MyNMU account once you are admitted. It's your one-stop portal for taking care of business at NMU.
  5. Register for your special Transfer Orientation session. It's required for all new NMU students and will build upon what you already know about navigating college life.
  6. Sign up for on-campus housing in either our residence halls or campus apartments. Many transfer students choose to live on campus their entire time at NMU because of the convenience, cost, and connections!
  7. Select your classes when your registration time opens. We highly recommend you speak with a Success Adviser first if you haven't, to plan your course schedule.
