Professional/personal biography: I earned a bachelor of science degree in sociology/criminal justice from Edgewood College in 1997 and a master of science degree in counseling psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. I have always held positions that enabled me to provide opportunity for others to improve their lives, especially in education. I joined the NMU staff in 2006.

Most memorable college experience: Probably the most memorable experience aside from friends, parties, etc.. would be the opportunity I had to be one of the commencement speakers at my graduation.

Favorite Marquette activity: Limited at this point, but probably getting the opportunity to work for NMU and knowing that I would be working with a great group of supportive people.

Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college:

1. You have the right to be here, so take advantage of each and every opportunity.
2. Don’t be afraid to go and seek help!  Professors and support services are there for you to ensure your success in college.
3. Be open to new experiences. It’s the best preparation for the real world!
