Hometown: Battle Creek, Mich.

Professional/personal biography: I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in entertainment and sports promotion from NMU in December 2008.  While I was enrolled at NMU I was very active in some of the many student organizations that we have.  I also worked for the Campus Visit Office throughout college and am glad to be coming “home” to the Admission Office.

Most memorable college experience: My most memorable college experience was the first time I experienced cliff jumping.  A group of us were hiking along Dead River and saw other people jumping in, so of course we had to try it.  It became an annual tradition for us to go back to Dead River and cliff jump every fall when classes started again.

Favorite Marquette activity: My favorite Marquette activity is to help out with the UP 200 every winter.  My first year at school I went to watch the race, then after that I had to get involved. I volunteered every winter after that!  My favorite activity related to NMU has to be the hockey games – they are a blast!

Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: The best advice I received about college was to enjoy every moment of it because it goes by extremely fast.   I thought I enjoyed everything I could, but it did go way too fast.  I’d tell someone the same and also not to be afraid to try new things because college is all about learning who you are and personal growth.
