	G.I Jobs magazine rates NMU in the top 15% of all colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide in military friendliness. NMU has also recently partnered with DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support) and lists all of our on-line course offerings in the (DANTES) Independent Study Guide. The 2011/2012 school year also sees NMU join the Yellow Ribbon Program which helps to supplement the Post 9/11 GI Bill

Paying for College
There are multiple ways to get help paying for college. Students should be completing the FAFSA, working with their high school counselor on completing local scholarships, checking out our foundation scholarships at www.nmu.edu/scholarships, and keeping up grades and ACT scores to earn a merit award. Call the admissions office at 1-800-682-9797 with any questions.
