Paying for College
There are multiple ways to get help paying for college.  Students should be completing the FAFSA, working with their high school counselor on completing local scholarships, checking out our foundation scholarships at www.nmu.edu/scholarships, and keeping up grades and ACT scores to earn a merit award. Call the admissions office at 1-800-682-9797 with any questions.

From our Inbox

Our admissions counselors love hearing from students who have decided that NMU is the best fit. One of our counselors recently received great comments in an email.  "I am a Freshman at NMU.  I am from the Grand Rapids area and met with you last winter to talk about NMU. Now as I'm gearing up for exams I wanted to thank you for taking the time to talk with me. I absolutely LOVE it here!  It's so beautiful and I'm having a great time.  All of my professors are awesome!  Northern is truly a great place to be."  Jeremy Meyers, Wyoming, MI
