Professional/personal biography: I hold two degrees from NMU and love being an active part of the Wildcat community! I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Public Relations, and in 2016 with Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs. I earned a second Master’s in Spanish Literature and Culture from Marquette University in 2013. I am an active learner in all that I do and I love helping students explore higher education as a path to personal growth and success. I’ve been involved on campus in a variety of ways over the years, working as a Spanish tutor, Spanish instructor, Language Center Coordinator, International Programs Intern, and Deskie within the on-campus apartments. I have also taken part in organizations such as Superior Edge, Spanish Club, PRSSA, and study abroad. I love talking about NMU and life in the U.P., so email or call anytime with questions!

Most memorable college experience: Studying abroad in Mexico and Cuba! Applying classroom teachings to real-world culture and practice has fostered in me a strong sense of intercultural competence and has paved the way for numerous international opportunities since this time. Travel is also my favorite hobby.

Favorite Marquette activity: What a challenge to pick just one. Marquette has it all! Mostly, I seek adventures found outdoors. I enjoy camping, hiking, driving to hidden gems and waterfalls, taking photographs of nature & sunsets, beaching, and of course, any activity that involves the Lake!

Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: Step outside of your comfort zone! College is an exciting, chaotic, and new experience. Keys to success include staying organized, holding yourself accountable for getting involved, and maintaining a positive attitude! Be open to learning new dimensions of yourself and explore what works for you as an individual!
