Gingerbread House Fundraiser Benefits Habitat

NMU student-athletes and Phyllis Wong teamed with children from Big Brothers Big Sisters and Marquette County Habitat for Humanity this week to build and decorate gingerbread houses.

These holiday decorations will be displayed at upcoming events and online as a silent auction to benefit Marquette County Habitat for Humanity.

"Gingerbread house building and decorating was a Wong family tradition and we're thrilled we can include Wildcat student-athletes in bringing this tradition to NMU's family in a way that benefits Habitat for Humanity--a philanthropy the Wongs have been happy to support," said Anne Stark (Communications and Marketing), coordinator.

Bids may be submitted by e-mail or in person at the following locations:

▪Saturday, Nov. 20: YMCA Family Volunteer Day, 1-4 p.m.

▪Wednesday, Dec. 1: NMU "Lighting Up the Holidays" event, 4:30-8 p.m., University Center

▪Friday, Dec. 3: NMU-MSU hockey game, Berry Events Center

▪Saturday, Dec. 4: NMU men’s/women’s basketball and NMU hockey, Berry Events Center. Bids will be accepted through the end of the second period of the hockey game, with winners announced at the second intermission.
