Chef At Chez Nous, Dinner is Served

Chez Nous, the fine dining restaurant in the Jacobetti Center that serves as a training ground for cooking and hospitality services, has opened for the first time during the fall semester. But instead of serving lunch as it does each spring, Chez Nous is featuring five-course gourmet dinners and a beverage for $14.99 per person.

Each meal revolves around a theme or particular ethnic cuisine, including Southwestern, Japanese, classic French, Thai and rustic Italian.

“We wanted to introduce students to the pre-fixed menu because it’s a really hot trend in the hospitality industry right now,” said Yvonne Lee (Technology and Occupational Sciences). “This will be a huge benefit to not only future employers, but to the local community because so many of our former students are working in the new restaurants that have opened in Marquette.

“We also wanted to give students more experience in fine dining so they will have a better skill set going into the winter semester, when they’re working off a full lunch menu. Opening up the evening labs gives them more quality lab experience and a lower student-faculty ratio.”

Chez Nous is open from 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays through Dec. 4. Reservations are required and can be made by calling ext. 1981 or 2387.
