Commencement Available via Streaming Video

Northern will offer live streaming video of commencement for the first time, allowing relatives and friends who can’t attend the May 5 ceremony to watch it remotely via the Internet.

The high-tech option is made possible through Northern’s existing partnership with B2 Networks, a company founded by an NMU alumnus that provides Internet broadcasts of Wildcat athletic events. Commencement will be streamed through a similar process, with video supplied by WNMU-TV. The cost of the B2 Networks connection is $6.

WNMU-TV also will air the ceremony live on Channel 13, as it does each year, and make high-quality DVDs available for purchase.

Northern’s commencement will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Superior Dome. Of the 950 students graduating, 800 are scheduled to march in the ceremony.
