Patent Seminar at NMU

A presentation titled “Protecting Your Intellectual Property Rights with Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks” will kick off the 2006 Business Seminar Series at NMU. It is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in the Charcoal Room of the University Center.

             

The discussion will be led by William Abbatt, a registered patent attorney from the firm Brooks Kushman P.C. of Southfield. His intellectual property practice includes patents, copyrights, trademarks, prosecution, enforcement and licensing. He is the chair of the intellectual property law section of the Federal Bar Association. 

             

The seminar is co-sponsored by the Walker L. Cisler College of Business at NMU, the Lake Superior Community Partnership, and The Smartzone – a collaboration between the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), the cities of Houghton and Hancock, Michigan Technological University, and the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance.
