Achievements

Beverly Matherne (English) has won the “Best Submission Award” for her translation of a Baudelaire prose poem in the special anniversary issue of Sojourn, published at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Members of the Administrative Professional (AP) union recently approved a $7,500 contribution to the 2005 WLUC-TV 6 Can-a-thon. This continues a tradition the union started in 2002 with its first donation of $500. The amount escalated to $5,000 the following year and $7,000 in 2004. In an e-mail response to this season's gift, Scott Zerbel of TV6 wrote, "The generosity of UAW Local 2178 is unmatched in the history of the TV6 Canathon and your help is greatly appreciated."

Celebrate Wellness Winners

The following employees have been named weekly winners in the NMU “Celebrate Wellness” program. This self-graded system awards points for exercise and other health-related activities. Participants who reached a minimum of 50 points and submitted their forms to Human Resources were entered in the random weekly drawings. Winners and their respective prizes were:
