Career Awareness Day Oct. 5

The JOBSearch Center’s annual Career Awareness Day will be held from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the Great Lakes Rooms. Sixty-eight employers are scheduled to participate.

“This is our 38th Career Awareness Day; it’s our major fall event, and it promises to be a busy and exciting day,” said John Frick (JOBSearch Center). “A lot of employers use this fair as a recruitment opportunity for jobs and internships, so students should come with a resume and be prepared to discuss why they’re interested in that particular career. This fair is an excellent opportunity for students to receive internships for academic credit, and all they need to do is spend a minimum of a half hour to an hour here. It benefits both students and employers, and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from it, which is why it’s been around for so many years.”

Participating employers include the Battle Creek Health System, City Insurance Agency, Family Video, Engineered Machined Products (EMP), and the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans. A full list can be found at JOBSearch Center. Many employers will stay in the area for an extra few days to conduct interviews with students. More information about each individual company can be found on the Web site.
