NMU Recognizes 'Constitution Week'

Northern will recognize “Constitution Week,” a federally designated celebration of the document that shaped the fundamental laws of the United States.

There will be a showing of The Patriot Act Under Fire at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in Mead Auditorium. It will be followed by a panel discussion, led by moderator Steve Nelson (Political Science). According to Bruce Sarjeant (Academic Info Services/Library), Olson Library will also participate by featuring a Constitution Day exhibit through Sept. 23 in the lobby display case. It will showcase government documents, snippets from the constitution, and historic publications. A page will also be added to the government documents Web site, which is off of the main library Web site at http://www.nmu.edu/library/.

For information on the federal celebration, including an opportunity to read the contents of the document, go to Constitution.
