Publications

Timothy G. Compton (Modern Languages and Literatures) collaborated with NMU student Amy Pesola on the English translation of The Golden Coin: Freud or Jung?, a play by Mexican writer Ignacio Solares. The result of their efforts is included in a bilingual edition (Spanish and English) of the play that has been published by Minimalia Press in Mexico City. Earlier this year, Pesola, Steve Oates (Education) and theater student William "Rupe" Prinski performed a staged reading of the English version, which Solares attended. The text in English is being considered for staging in several parts of the country.

G. Jailan Zalmai (Mathematics and Computer Science) had two articles published recently. "Optimality Conditions and Duality Models for Minmax Fractional Subset Programming Problems with Generalized (F, alpha, rho, theta) V-Convex Functions" appeared in the Southeast Asian Bulletin of Mathematics; and "Optimality Conditions and Duality Models for Minmax Fractional Optimal Control Problems Containing Arbitrary Norms" appeared in the Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society.
